Take a walking holiday right here in Kildare and join me for a guided historic walk of the Village of Robertstown and the Grand Canal. The walk commences here in Robertstown Holiday Village and we journey to the centre of the village to the Grand Canal Hotel. From there we stroll along the Grand Canal over Binns Bridge to Lowtown, the highest point on the Grand Canal in Ireland  There are No uphill struggles for you just the breathtaking scenery, you will not see finer beauty anywhere else than walking along the Grand Canal here in Robetstown, Kildare Ireland

Guided walks are availale on Wednesday, Thursdays, Saturday or Sunday.
The Guided walk takes approx 1.5 hours.

Robertstown selfcatering cottages is the ideal base on The Grand Canal as it gives you miles of walks to enjoy. You can take a leisurely stroll down to the Marina at Lowtown or take the Tow Path Trails of the Grand Canal taking the Shannon line to Allenwood and on to Edenderry - 21 miles or walk The Barrow Navigation line to Rathangan - 13 miles or towards Dublin to Sallins – 12 miles.

Donadea Forest and Kilinthomas Wood are all a short drive from Robertstown holiday homes and near the town of Naas in Kildare.
Alternatively go for a walk on the Bog of Allen, ascend the Hill of Allen with the Alymer tower atop and see spectacular views. Visit at Pollardstown Fen on the Curragh edge is the largest spring fed fen in Ireland covering 225ha It is ideal for nature lovers, where the natural springs supply the Grand Canal to the summit at Robertstown.
